A fire witch and a fire chief? Why not, right? I already enjoy this series immensely, but the fun rolls on with each new installment of this paranormal romance cozy mystery series.Some Like It Witchy is the third book in the Main Street Witches series which is a spin off to the original Banshee Creek series. It could be enjoyed out of order, but the world and already established relationships tie together from book to book not to mention the running series plot building up in the background.
Fiona is fairly new to the Banshee Creek community and she loves it all including her candlemaking business. She has hung up her witch hat for good after her unstable fire magic caused some mishaps. Better to tamp it down and do something creative with her favorite element. All is well until a visiting witch coven who wants to conduct their Beltane ritual out in Banshee Creek's park has a death at their ceremony and Fiona's products are implicated in the investigation. The handsome and curmudgeonly fire chief chooses to help conduct the investigation regarding Fiona's fire starters himself.
Gavin has been a minor character throughout both series and he is the longsuffering fire and rescue chief who puts up with and handles the oddest emergencies because its Banshee Creek and weird is the new normal. I was tickled to see the gruff no-nonsense man get his own romance and team up with Fiona to solve the murder
It wasn't a difficult mystery, really, but it was a fun one to follow. I confess to being more into Fiana's friendship with Kat and Luanne (characters from earlier books) and her feisty romance with Gavin along with the antics of her Korean dog-raccoon spirit haunting her place.
All in all, it was another fun one in the series with a blend of light and dark with the humor opposed to the murder. I look forward to what comes next and can heartily recommend this paranormal cozy mystery series.

I am hoping Ani continues on with some of the character introductions through this series.
Some Like It Witchy gives credibility to some existing characters and introduces new ones.
New shops open and people arrive to celebrate Beltane. Lots of paranormal activity and whodunit mystery and drama.
Looking into another Banshee Creek series and loving it.
I really liked this book. This was not just a simple cozy mystery. It had a great storyline and believable characters. Then there was some romance thrown in for good measure. This is a town full of witches and tourists who come to enjoy witches and ghosts. Fiona has a candle shop and gets involved with a murder and witch groups. To keep this short, I would just totally recommend this book!!
Not sure what age group this book was geared towards. Not understanding that 5 star reviews at all. Parts of the story felt rushed, other parts seemed to drag on. Don't even get me started on the chemistry between Gaven and Fiona. This book read like a high school love story set in an adult town. Not for me. Thankfully this was a free book because I got as far as 61% and just couldn't take it anymore. This isn't a cozy read, it's a boring one.

What do I think? I think that Ani Gonzalez couldn't write a mediocre book if she worked at it! The fun keeps getting better with each book, and although there are recurring characters, each is a stand alone that makes you want to read others. The publisher's blurb gives hints and there is no need for spoilers or a recap, just poke your nose into the book and enjoy the read.
Banshee creek is a cleverly imagined small town with more than its share of paranormal beings & occurrences. This is a clean, fast read made all the more pleasant by the likable Gavin, a fireman, and Fiona, a candle maker. They solve a witchy murder while coming to terms with their somewhat hostile relationship. Lots of fun and no offensive language or sex.
I love Main Street Witches Series. I’ve read three of four and they are edged more into the paranormal, but please read Banshee Creek Series first. I enjoy how all the characters intertwine from book to book, series to series.

I enjoy how the author takes two people on the opposite of a spectrum and puts them together. The candle maker/fire witch Fiona and Fire Chief Gavin make a cute couple and even though bodies start dropping it doesn’t take away from the sweet romance building between the two.
Another great story about the town of Banshee Creek and its residents. This town is fun and funny, but this story is about the death of the leader of a witches coven. Many people in the town have magic, and after the leader of the coven dies during a ritual, blame shifts to Fiona and her fire starters. Fiona can make fire more powerful, but she is afraid of her magic doesn't use it. Gavin, the fire chief, is investigating the murder along with the police. He likes Fiona and wants to prove her innocent. Fiona has like Gavin for a long but neither have done anything about having the hots for each other.. That all changes as they work together to find the killer. THINGS REALLY HEAT UP.
